Biography

Elmer served as selectman of Montville for four years. He was a charter member and past grand of Thames lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a member of the Montville Center, Congregational Church. In politics his preference was the Republican party. Elmer possessed a quiet disposition, was a pleasing conversationalist, and was well liked and respected by all with whom he came in contact.4
